Palermo claim to have rejected United bid

Palermo say they have rebuffed interest from Manchester United for 21 year old striker Paulo Dybala, reports the Guardian.

The president of the Italian club has described the youngster as the ‘new Sergio Aguero’ and has slapped a €40 million price tag on the Argentinian – however, he claims the Serie A side will be willing to discuss the forward’s future in the summer.

PSG defender targeted by LVG

United are thought to be chasing Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos with a possible £30m move for the young centre-back touted, say Le 10 Sport.

The Red Devils have a solid defensive record this season, but Louis van Gaal is said to be unimpressed by his current options at the back and a deal for the Brazilian could be easy to work after he lost his place in the Ligue 1 side to summer signing David Luiz.

Strootman move blocked by Roma president

AS Roma will only discuss a move for Kevin Strootman if the club are offered “a stupid number” says the Italian side’s president, James Pallotta.

The Daily Mirror report Pallotta as saying: “I do get annoyed. I think the papers have finally given up on the Strootman thing, because Kevin’s come out and addressed it, saying he likes it in Italy and he has a five-year contract. And by the way, I wasn’t going to sell him anyway!

“We want to put the best team on the pitch, that’s the most important thing. But we’re businessmen. If someone comes in with a stupid number for a player, you have to listen to it.”

Di Maria insists new look United will be top dogs

Angel di Maria has said fans need to get used to van Gaal’s new look Manchester United and insists the club will return to the top of the Premier League.

The Red Devils have been criticised for not employing the same style as Sir Alex Ferguson’s title winning sides but the club’s record signing says fans must get used to their new style of play.

“We’re beginning something new here. We’ve got a new style, we’ve got a new manager and we’re all working hard to make sure we’re putting Manchester United back where it belongs,” said Di Maria, reports Daily Mirror.
