The Belgian international, who enjoyed a superb breakthrough in United’s first-team last season, has found himself increasingly out of favour this term under new manager Louis van Gaal and now hopes to be allowed to move this winter.

Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and Porto are among the main contenders to sign Januzaj, with Premier League clubs also thought to be chasing him this month.

The player himself wants a move to a Champions League side, with United missing out on Europe’s top club competition this season, after a shock seventh place finish last term.

The 19-year-old wide-man now looks likely to be granted a move abroad on a temporary basis, with the teenager still one of the most highly regarded young players on the books at the club.
