One Player From Each Premier League Club That Isn’t Good Enough To Be There: Man United Flop And Liverpool Stopper Don’t Cut The Mustard

One player from each club that isn’t good enough.

All teams have them. The one water carrier that just isn’t up to the standard set by the rest of the squad and should likely be moved on instead of keeping around just to back up the team. It’s not to say the players below are bad players, but they aren’t what their squads need or want.

Arsenal – Mathieu Flamini

If he was their answer to the defensive midfield question, then Arsene Wenger needs to go back to the drawing board. Marooned on the bench now, whatever Flamini’s best was, he passed it a long time ago.

Aston Villa – Kieran Richardson

Villa brought in the former Man United youth product over the summer to add more experience to a young and fragile squad. However, aside from a lot of running it’s hard to figure out what Richardson actually brings to the team.

Burnley – Steven Reid

Crocked and unable to stake a claim for a regular place in the side when fit. Reid should concentrate on spending more time in the studio now.

Chelsea – John Obi Mikel

Once a key component to Chelsea’s midfield, the club have moved on and left him behind now. However, they still cannot find a buyer for him.

Crystal Palace – Barry Bannan

The diminutive Scot arrived from Aston Villa with a big reputation and a hefty expectation to live up to, but sadly he has failed to do so and still cannot get off the Eagles bench.

Everton – Aiden McGeady

McGeady was meant to be Everton’s live wire and a big creative outlet, but he’s consistently inconsistent form has failed to deceive.

Hull City – Tom Ince

This was supposed to be a big season for Ince, who had carried Blackpool for so long. This was when he was due to show the bigger clubs that he can live up to the hype, but so far he has just looked like another vicim of the hype machine.

Leicester City – David Nugent

A striker that scores less than Heskey. It’s clear that he is not cut out for the Premier League.

Liverpool – Simon Mignolet

When you cast your mind back over the great Liverpool ‘keepers of the past, it’s pretty safe to say that Mignolet will be nowhere near any of them.

Manchester City – Scott Sinclair

Another young English player that has ruined their career by joining a big club that they are not ready for. Will likely move on in the near future.

Manchester United – Anderson

Poor Anderson. Once so highly regarded at Old Trafford, but he is now barely an afterthought. Deserves to leave for the sake of his career.

Newcastle United – Mike Williamson

Who? We hear you cry! We don’t know either.

QPR – Karl Henry

Brought in to add more grit to the Rangers midfield, but when Joey Barton is already in the side Henry is rendered rather useless.

Southampton – Maya Yoshida

The Japanese international has often exposed himself as a weak link at the back for the Saints, and as such has frequently been left out altogether.

Stoke City – Charlie Adam

How the mighty have fallen. Adam once looked a great prospect with Blackpool, but he failed to make the grade at Liverpool and he’s since suffered to recover at Stoke.

Sunderland – Jozy Altidore

The American striker was so deadly in Europe, but having bagged just one goal in a year he has proved that he is perhaps not cut out for Premier League football.

Swansea City – Marvin Emnes

Once a highly-rated under-21 star, Emnes took a long time to get going at a struggling Middlesbrough before winning a shock move to South Wales. However, if Bafe Gomis can’t get in the current side then Emnes won’t stand much chance either.

Tottenham Hotspur – Roberto Soldado

Do we need to go into this?

West Bromwich Albion – Brown Ideye

For a £10m striker, the Nigerian international has managed just one goal so far this term, and even that was a bundled header.

West Ham United – Carlton Cole

Carlton Cole – Can’t Control.
