12) David Trezeguet
Most famous for his goalscoring exploits with Juventus and the French national team, David Trezeguet is still going strong at the age of 37, playing in the Indian Super League with Pune City after recent spells in Argentina with River Plate and Newell’s Old Boys.

11) Alvaro Recoba
Something of an Inter Milan legend, Alvaro Recoba is a name that hasn’t been heard much for around ten years now, but amazingly he is still playing at the age of 38 with Uruguayan side Nacional.
10) Javier Saviola
Once expected to become a world great, Javier Saviola did not have as great a career as expected and is now something of a forgotten man, though still only 33 and continuing playing in Europe with Italian side Hellas Verona.
9) Alex Manninger
After breaking through as a promising youngster at Arsenal in the late 90s, Austrian goalkeeeper Alex Manninger has had a well traveled career and is now with Bundesliga side FC Augsburg, though he very recently spent four years at Juventus as a backup to Gianluigi Buffon.

Most recently of Indian Super League club Chennaiyin FC, ex-Arsenal and Manchester United defender Mikael Silvestre is said to be open to extending his playing career in the Middle East.
7) Ian Harte
A Premier League player as recently as 2013, Ian Harte is still going strong at the age of 37, and is part of promotion-chasing Bournemouth in the Championship this season.

Most recently of Fulham in 2013, ex-Tottenham Hotspur and Wales winger Simon Davies is now with amateur Pembrokeshire League Division Two club Solva AFC.

Formerly of Manchester United and part of Brazil’s 2002 World Cup-winning squad, midfielder Kleberson is still only 35 years old and plays in the US for Indy Eleven.

Famously once of Inter Milan and Newcastle United, Emre Belozoglu is actually still only 34 years old and still forging a career at the top level with Fenerbahce.

One of the most hated former Premier League stars, ex-Liverpool, Bolton, Blackburn and Leeds forward El Hadji Diouf is still going at the age of 34 with Malaysian club Sabah FA.

One of the best defenders of all time, AC Milan and Italy legend Alessandro Nesta recently came out of retirement to play in the Indian Super League with Chennaiyin.

An under-appreciated great at his peak, Juan Roman Riquelme is still firing in free-kicks and playing quality long-balls for Argentine side Argentinos Juniors at the ripe old age of 36.
