£150 million spending spree given green light

The Daily Mirror claims Louis van Gaal will be given permission for another mega transfer splurge at a meeting with members of the United hierarchy today.

The paper say the United boss is due to discuss his transfer plans with the likes of Ed Woodward at a ‘transfer summit’ and it is thought van Gaal will be given the go ahead to make one major January signing to secure the club’s top four ambitions.

Hummels tops United hitlist

The same piece from the Mirror says Borussia Dortmund’s centre back Mats Hummels, unsurprisingly, is top of their wish-list.

Kevin Strootman is also thought to be on there but United may have to table mega bids for the two with Hummels himself potentially costing over £40 million.

Ron Vlaar would have also been a target had it not been for the Aston Villa man’s knee injury that will keep him out until late February.

New right back top of the agenda

The Mail, however, say a new right back is top of the United agenda with the club looking at potential moves for Everton’s Seamus Coleman and Southampton’s Nathaniel Clyne.

The report says a more serious and extensive spending spree may happen in the summer but the United boss wants to sure up the right side of his defence now.

Italian giants look to end Falcao’s United misery

Juventus and Roma are said to be interested in signing the Red Devils on-loan striker Radamel Falcao at the end of the season.

The Colombian has flopped at United, but could sign for the club for £43m at the end of the season, however is said to be livid at his treatment after being dropped from the match day squad to face Southampton.

The Daily Star say Juve and Roma have both contracted Falcao’s representatives to discuss a possible deal.

Januzaj denied loan move

Adnan Januzaj has been prevented from making a short-term move away from United and told to fight for his place in the first team squad.

Januzaj has been a peripheral figure for the Red Devils this season under new boss Louis van Gaal after a breakout year under David Moyes last season.

The Belgan was hoping to be allowed to leave but has been told he’s going nowhere this month, according to Daily Mirror.
