1) He has been compared to a Barcelona legend

This promising young midfielder has been compared in playing style to Barcelona legend Xavi. If he turns out to be anywhere near as good then he’ll make a superb signing for the Gunners. So far in his career he has shown some versatility, playing in defensive midfield, attacking midfield and as an all-round box-to-box player for his club, scoring three goals and providing two assists in all competitions so far this season. Perhaps the Xavi comparisons will prove a little exaggerated, but it shows how highly rated he is by some.

2) Regular for Croatia

Despite his young age, Brozovic has already shown himself to be a regular for the Croatian national team, having made his debut last year. The talented playmaker made his full debut in a 1-0 win over Australia in a friendly before going on to appear for his country at the 2014 World Cup, though he didn’t have much time to make an impact as his side were eliminated at the group stages.

3) His contract with Dinamo runs until 2019

In what could prove a stumbling block for Arsenal in their bid to bring in this ideal midfield signing, Brozovic still has four and a half years remaining on the contract he signed when he joined Dinamo Zagreb back in 2012. The midfielder then signed an astonishingly long seven-year contract, meaning his club are fairly in control over his future if the Gunners don’t manage to meet their demands.

4) He’d be the 24th Croatian to play in the Premier League

If Brozovic does move to Arsenal, he’ll be the 24th Croatian player to play in the Premier League, following in the footsteps of some greats such as Luka Modric, as well as former Gunners pair Eduardo da Silva and Davor Suker.

5) He’s been in a song!

That’s right, he’s been featured in a song! Brozovic does vocals in the introduction to $agud – Car, showing he has extra-curricular interests outside of football!
