Here are the Arsenal ratings for their 2-0 win over Manchester City:

GK) David Ospina – 6.5

Despite the clean sheet, Ospina didn’t look totally self assured in goal. His handling wasn’t fantastic, and his distribution was extremely poor.

RB) Hector Bellerin – 7.5

The young right-back looked incredibly calm and composed, and showed experience well beyond his years.

CB) Laurent Koscielny – 8.0

Fantastic at the back, regularly putting his body on the line to defend.

CB) Per Mertesacker – 7.5

Dominant in the air, and made a number of superb interceptions and blocks.

LB) Nacho Monreal – 7.0

Struggled a little with the pace of Jesus Navas, but put in a good shift.

DM) Francis Coquelin – 8.0

The young Frenchman was vital for Arsenal today, and shielded the back four superbly.

CM) Aaron Ramsey – 7.5

There were worries of rust as the Welshman returned from injury, but he looked excellent today. He started to tire in the second half, and was subbed late on.

CAM) Santi Cazorla – 9.5

Absolutely phenomenal! The Spaniard tucked away the penalty, assisted Olivier Giroud’s goal, and was a constant attacking threat. Not only that, but he held onto the ball well, and put in a fantastic defensive shift.

RAM) Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain – 7.0

Chamberlain looked fantastic in the first half, and it was a surprise when he was subbed.

LAM) Alexis Sanchez – 7.0

A surprisingly quiet game from the Chilean, and things just didn’t seem to go right for him. He didn’t perform badly by any stretch, but was not his usual enigmatic self.

ST) Olivier Giroud – 7.5

Put some distance between the two sides with a good headed goal, and showed some good hold up play to bring his teammates into the attack.

Substitute) Tomas Rosicky – 7.5

Looked excellent when he came on, and added some fresh legs to replace the tired Ramsey.

Substitute) Kieran Gibbs – 6.5

Made a few good attacking runs, but his end product was poor.

Substitute) Mathieu Flamini – 6.5

Found himself in fantastic positions on a couple of occasions, but couldn’t capitalise.
