£50m and de Gea swap deal for Gareth Bale

The Sunday People claim Manchester United are looking to snap up Gareth Bale by offering Real Madrid a combined £100 million deal that would see David de Gea return to Spain.

Real are thought to be eager to sign the United no. 1 and the Manchester club say they’re willing to part ways with the 24 year old and stump up £50m if it means they can get the Welshman.

January transfer plans shelved until the summer

The Sunday Mirror report that United have decided to ditch their January transfer plans and will instead wait until the summer to attempt to sign Mats Hummels and Kevin Strootman.

The two have seemingly been atop of Louis van Gaal’s wish list since his arrival at Old Trafford, but the Dutch boss is said to have told the United hierarchy that his current squad is good enough until the end of the season.

Falcao fee renegotiated

United will attempt to renogotiate the £43 million fee they have been quoted if they wish to keep Falcao permanently on the books after his loan deal expires in the summer, reports Daily Telegraph.

However, the Colombian striker’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has hinted there wouldn’t be a lack of offers from elsewhere if United are unwilling to spend such a large amount.

Van Gaal eyes Barcelona defender

Italian news source Tutto Mercato Web say the United boss has identified Dani Alves as the perfect fit for his 3-5-2 system .

The Barcelona right back is in the final year of his contract with the Catalan giants and van Gaal could target him if touted moves from Southampton’s Nathaniel Clyne or Everton’s Seamus Coleman fall through.

Former United favourite slams van Gaal’s tactics.

Andrei Kanchelskis has ripped to shreds the tactical approach of United boss van Gaal saying he won’t win the Premier League in 10 years with his approach.

“I don’t understand the type of football he is instilling into his players. I don’t fancy their chances with him in charge – they aren’t going to compete with Chelsea and Manchester City,” he told Sunday People.
