Van Gaal Praises Radamel Falcao Despite Man United Missed Chances

Falcao missed two gilt edged opportunities against Queens Park Rangers.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has come out to praise the performance of Colombian striker Radamel Falcao following the Red Devils’ 2-0 victory at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday afternoon, report the Mail, despite the fact that the on loan AS Monaco man missed two glorious chances to find the back of Rob Green’s net.

There had appeared to be something of a rift between Falcao and his manager in recent days, following the Dutchman’s decision to drop the former Atletico Madrid star for the defeat to Southampton last weekend, but he was back in the team for the tough looking trip to Lofus Road, where struggling Rangers have largely been excellent this season.

Falcao missed two great chances to add to his meagre tally of Premier League goals for the club so far, however, heading straight at Green from point blank range and failing to gain any connection on a ball across the six yard box.

Despite this, however, van Gaal praised his striker after the match:

“Scoring goals is an important aspect of a striker I know, but for me it’s also very important if he is an attacking point, that he can play further and that with another striker we are coming into third and fourth phases of our attack.”

“And I think he did well.”
