A superbly hard-fought win away to the finalists of the Champions League the previous season, Aaron Ramsey’s goal saw Arsenal take three points from Borussia Dortmund.

9) Everton 1-6 Arsenal, 2009
Cesc Fabregas scored twice and Arsenal were in sublime form on the opening day of the season as they romped to a 6-1 win at Goodison Park.

Although Manchester City were not quite what they are now, this impressive 3-0 win was another great result for the Gunners at the Etihad Stadium.

Perhaps Robin van Persie’s finest hour in an Arsenal shirt, the Dutchman was unplayable as he hit a stunning hat-trick to give the Gunners a rare win at Stamford Bridge by a crazy 5-3 scoreline.
4) Liverpool 3-6 Arsenal, 2006
Playing largely a reserve-strength side, Arsenal were absolutely fantastic in this League Cup win away to Liverpool, racing into a 4-1 lead at half time and finishing as 6-3 winners.
3) Inter Milan 1-5 Arsenal, 2003
One of Arsenal’s most memorable nights in Europe, Thierry Henry scored twice as the Gunners thrashed Inter Milan at the San Siro back in 2003.
2) Real Madrid 0-1 Arsenal, 2006
Perhaps trumping that night in Milan, Arsenal claimed a real scalp as they ground out a 1-0 win away to a star-studded Real Madrid side on their way to the Champions League final in 2006. Thierry Henry’s wondergoal sealed the win, and is one of the best of his superb collection of Gunners strikes.
