GK) Michel Vorm – 6

Will have been grateful to see Sheffield United’s best chances fly past his post. Had an otherwise quiet evening.

RB) Kyle Walker – 6

Endured plenty of jibes from the travelling fans, but looked decent as he continued his comeback from injury.

CB) Eric Dier – 7

Calm is possession, working hard at the back and offering a threat moving forward, a good night for the youngster.

CB) Jan Vertonghen – 6

Should have done better with a free header, but defended well alongside Dier to help keen a clean sheet.

LB) Ben Davies – 5

Given a torrid evening by Campbell-Ryce, struggling to keep the Sheffield United attacks under wraps in the second-half.

CM) Ryan Mason – 6

Looked busy in midfield, but struggled to create anything significant and was withdrawn shortly after the hour mark.

CM) Benjamin Stambouli – 5

Too many errors from him tonight – looked good at times, but needs to find some consistency in his game.

RM) Andros Townsend – 7

Scored the goal, his fourth of the season from the spot and was at the heart of the best moments from the home side.

AM) Christian Eriksen – 7

His killer pass was the moment of quality that made the difference, leading to the penalty award after the handball.

LM) Harry Kane – 6

Was surprisingly stranded out wide, with Adebayor playing through the middle, with his game suffering as a result.

ST) Emmanuel Adebayor – 4

Looked lethargic up front, while his withdrawal was greeted by more than a few boos from the home fans.

Manager: Mauricio Pochettino – 7

Got the result he wanted, but will be all too aware that more will be required next week.

Subs:

1) Mousa Dembele – 6 – Direct running from midfield gave Spurs extra influence.

2) Roberto Soldado – 7 – Good movement led to the penalty award, a decent effort from the Spaniard.

3) Paulinho – 6 – A couple of decent runs, looked good after coming on.
