The Brazilian played alongside Stamford Bridge man Willian while the 26-year-old was at the Ukrainian club, and has continued to impress in the winger’s absence.

This possible move comes as rumours grow about the potential signing of Fiorentina star Juan Cuadrado by the Blues.

Costa plays on the right wing, and has scored twice in 12 appearances this season. His arrival may be bad news for Andre Schurrle and Mohamed Salah, both of whom play there and may be knocked down the pecking order by any new arrivals.

The 24-year-old has dual nationality as Portuguese-Brazilian, so would have no problems with work permits should he join the London club – despite having played for Brazil.

It is also unknown whether he would go straight in to the team at the Bridge, with manager Jose Mourinho already having a lot of success with his former teammate Willian playing in his preferred right midfield role.
