The 16-year-old, who has become regarded as one of the top 10 teenagers in world football in recent times, completed his move to the Spanish capital this week after also being linked with a host of other top European clubs.

Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City also tried to woo Odegaard after he made a tour of the English giants, but he found it hard to turn down an offer from the European champions.

Speaking at his first press conference after being unveiled by the club, the Norwegian international was asked about his preference between Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi, saying that at the moment he favours the Portuguese international.

Still, it is thought that Odegaard has already been at work deleting old tweets of praise for the Argentine, who is of course hated by Real fans after his stunning career at the Nou Camp and immense success at their expense.
