The Anfield side have suffered as a result of the sale of Luis Suarez to Barcelona and the loss through injury of Daniel Sturridge for most of the campaign has further hindered Liverpool’s push to build on last season’s excellent Premier League runners-up finish.
It’s therefore no surprise that Rodgers would be looking to sign a striker but one wonders just how likely a move to bring in French international Benzema would be.
£38m rated Benzema has been in super form at the Bernabeu over the past 18 months and there seems little reason why the former Lyon man would quit the reigning Champions League holders, and current La Liga leaders, for Liverpool.
A move for Lacazette is therefore perhaps the more likely of this pair of deals to come to fruition.
Lacazette is in amazing form this term, his 20 goals in 21 appearances seeing the 23 year old lead the Ligue 1 goal-scoring charts by some distance, and it will apparently take a bid of around £25m to land the Stade Gerland ace.
