Mourinho has alluded to the fact that he isn’t all that impressed with squad offering following his side’s surprise FA Cup defeat to League One side Bradford City.

Egyptian winger Salah took part in the fixture whilst Schurrle was entirely absent from Mourinho’s line-up for the match.

“It is easy for people to understand now why I play almost every game with the same players.” Mourinho stated.

Serie A side AS Roma are closing in on a loan deal for Salah, which could perhaps lead to a permanent exit, whilst Bundesliga side Wolfsburg have offered £23m for World Cup winner Schurrle.

Such an offer would represent a profit on the £18m paid to Bayer Leverkusen for the versatile forward and as such one imagines it’s a deal Mourinho would jump at.

Moves to sell the pair would help to fund moves to capture Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado and Newcastle United’s Moussa Sissoko, both known Chelsea targets.
