‘I Want To Leave,’ Claims Long-Term Liverpool & Arsenal Target

Liverpool’s former target Henrikh Mkhitaryan likely to leave Borussia Dortmund this summer..

Former Liverpool target Henrikh Mkhitaryan wants to leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer, according to the midfielder’s agent. Mkhitaryan joined the former German champions in the summer of 2013 after serious interest from Brendan Rodgers.

Rodgers later stated that a lack of Champions League football (via Sky Sports) swayed the Armenian’s decision, who opted to join the then European runners-up.

His move hasn’t worked out as hoped as Jurgen Klopp’s men have struggled badly in the Bundesliga and face an unexpected relegation battle this season.

Mkhitaryan has decided to leave according to his agent, which might interest Liverpool again given that the club will be short of midfielders with Steven Gerrard’s imminent departure.

“Henrikh has desire to leave Dortmund in the summer. I need to see what we can do about it. ” agent Mino Raiola was quoted as saying in Bild.

Dortmund have a reputation for losing their departure with the expectation that Marco Reus will follow Mario Gotze and Robert Lewandowski out of the Signal Iduna Park.

The club may then be reluctant to let Mkhitaryan go, but if his agent has his way, the midfielder’s future in Dortmund would become untenable.
