This season’s FA Cup has seen a number of high profile teams dumped out by lower league sides including Chelsea and Manchester City seemingly paving the way for one of Manchester United, Liverpool or Arsenal to win the tournament.
The news of Arsenal’s odds comes the day after Manchester United dispatched Cambridge United in their FA Cup Fourth Round Replay at Old Trafford and Louis van Gaal claming that his side were favourites to lift the trophy.
It had been 11 years since the Red Devils won the FA Cup and Van Gaal has already pushed home the importance of winning, “We have a real chance now,” he said.”Why? We are the highest qualified team in the FA Cup, so our status is the highest club.”
“So people are maybe betting on us. I’m not allowed to. I give you a tip.
“I’m not a casino man. But of course I think the highest qualified teams have more possibilities to win than lower qualified teams.”
Manchester United travel to Preston North End in Round Five while Arsenal host Manchester City’s conquerors Middlesbrough and if Liverpool can get past an away replay against Bolton they will travel to Crystal Palace.
