GK – Simon Mignolet – 5/10
The Reds stopper could have reacted better for both of Spurs’ goals.
LCB – Mamadou Sakho – 5/10
One of Sakho’s poorer performances in a Liverpool shirt with unnecessary fouls and allowed Harry Kane the opening for the first goal far too easily.
CB – Martin Skrtel – 6/10
Struggled to contain the in-form Tottenham striker, receiving a yellow-card for tripping the 21-year-old, but was powerful in the air.
RCB – Emre Can – 8/10
Another solid performance from the versatile defender, moved into midfield when captain Steven Gerrard went off with an injury, and looked controlled in possession once more.
RM – Alberto Moreno – 7/10
Moreno’s pace was a crucial aspect of the Reds’ attacking threat particularly on the counter-attack, and did his job well defensively.
CM – Steven Gerrard – 5/10
Not a night to remember for Gerrard, other than the expertly finished penalty, as the veteran had a poor game in possession.
CM – Jordan Henderson – 7/10
A typical performance from the midfielder who is establishing himself as a ready-made replacement for captain Gerrard.
LM – Lazar Markovic – 7/10
A piece of individual play from Markovic gave Liverpool the lead, providing another glimpse to the Anfield faithful of a future star.
RF – Philippe Coutinho – 6/10
The little magician was an attacking threat for the Reds, constantly showing off his creative mind.
ST – Daniel Sturridge – 7/10
Looked ready for action in his second-start after a lengthy spell on the sidelines, came very close with a cheeky back-heel on the stroke of half-time.
LF – Jordon Ibe – 8/10
The youngster is another of the Reds squad as one to watch for the future, easing past Danny Rose as he looked a constant threat going forward.
