Premier League TV – Bumper new deal.

Here are clubs that could be earning less than the Potters from their TV contracts, as long as Mark Hughes doesn’t get the midlands team relegated…

All figures from the Daily Mail.

Atletico Madrid, currently earning £31.12m a year

Clubs in Spain negotiate their own deals, unlike the league system in England. However, this will change at the next contract. Last season’s La Liga winners have not some out of this very well, earning less than even the 20th placed Premier League side.

It is likely that they will get more after their next negotiation, but it would have to more than double to even compete with the lower placed English teams.

Valencia, currently earning £35.57 million

Billionaire owned Valencia are hit similarly by Real Madrid and Barcelona grabbing most of the money in La Liga. They could also earn more

Paris Saint-Germain, currently earning £33.05 million

The Ligue 1 champions have to rely on large commercial revenues in order to keep up their big spending. With a poor quality league it is unlikely that this will grow anytime soon.

Bayern Munich, currently earning £27.34m

They may be one of the dominant forces in European football, but the Bundesliga champions are way off the pace in terms of TV deals. Despite this they still spend big and stay at the top of the game on the continent.

Borussia Dortmund, currently earning £26.31m

BVB are known for punching above their weight in financial terms, and this shows why. Their current flirt with relegation will mean that they are sure to earn less after the next contract.

Juventus, currently earning £69.66 million

The Italian champions are one of the few teams competing with the Premier League sides on TV deals. However, they still only get the same as a lower mid-table side in the current deal, and will be blown away by the new contract.
