The Ligue 1 club will face Jose Mourinho’s side in the last 16 of Europe’s premier club competition and due to the Blues lack of FA Cup action this weekend they will have a full week of preparation.

“Jose Mourinho is a genius, he lost his FA Cup match 4-2 (against Bradford) and was given a week to prepare for his match against us in the Champions League,” the French coach told Le10 Sport.

Chelsea were famously 2-0 up against the League One side before a monumental collapse saw them ship four goals in the second half and tumble out of the competition in the fifth round.

Mourinho has been known to make strange, tactical decisions before to try and influence the outcome of his team’s matches – just see his time at Real Madrid instructing Sergio Ramos and Xabi Alonso to getting intentional yellow cards.

But this would probably be a step too far even for him.

The two sides will face off at the Parc des Princes in less than a week’s time.
