Ten Premier League Fringe Players Who Could Succeed Elsewhere, With Man United And Arsenal Stars

Reports are linking West Ham United with a shock move for Javier Hernandez…

The Daily Star have suggested that West Ham United are among the surprise favourites to sign Manchester United’s Mexican striker Javier Hernandez, who is currently on loan with European Champions Real Madrid.

The 26-year-old has scored 59 goals in 154 games for the Red Devils, but has only managed to find the net four times since making the move to Spain. While his stock has fallen somewhat in recent years, a signing of his proven quality would prove a massive coup for the Hammers.

We rank him in our list below, among ten Premier League fringe players who would make great signings next summer:

10) Emmanuel Adebayor (Tottenham Hotspur)

The 30-year-old Togo international has struggled as Tottenham so far this season, but he’s been a regular goalscorer at some of the biggest clubs in Europe, so might be worth a gamble.

9) Mohamed Salah (Chelsea)

The winger rarely got given a chance at Chelsea, but proved during his time with Basel that he has plenty of quality. Currently on loan at Fiorentina, and if he proves himself there we could see him at another Premier League club next season.

8) Fabio Borini (Liverpool)

It just hasn’t happened for the Italian at Anfield, but his success at Sunderland while on loan last season means that he could still do well in the Premier League. Both the Black Cats and QPR have shown an interest in signing him permanently in the past.

7) Javier Hernandez (Manchester United)

Hernandez was regularly reaching double figures for goals as a United player, and that could convince another Premier League team to take him off Louis van Gaal’s hands. He’s a poacher of goals and will likely prove a useful addition.

6) Rickie Lambert (Liverpool)

Lambert turned down a deadline day move to Aston Villa earlier this month, but could find his Liverpool future up for debate once again next summer. While he’s struggled to find the net regularly for the Reds, his success for Southampton proved that he’s Premier League quality.

5) Joel Campbell (Arsenal)

Campbell shot to prominence last season, when he starred for Olympiacos in their Champions League run. He was on form again last summer, when he helped Costa Rica reach the Champions league quarter-finals, but has struggled to hold down a first-team place at Arsenal.

4) Nani (Manchester United)

Nani’s stock has progressively fallen in recent years, culminating in him being loaned out to Sporting Lisbon this season. However, his performances in Portugal have proved that he still has quality, and could convince someone to take a chance on him.

3) Victor Moses (Chelsea)

Moses failed to make the grade at Chelsea and Liverpool, but he’s been in top form for Stoke this season. If Mark Hughes’ side choose not to make the move permanent this summer, then he’d make a great signing for someone else.

2) Micah Richards (Manchester City)

Richards fell down the pecking order at City and found himself loaned out to Fiorentina this season. Thankfully, the former England international has seemingly put his injury issues behind him and has impressed at times so far this term.

1) Wojciech Szczesny (Arsenal)

The Polish stopper was the Premier League’s golden glove winner last season, but has fallen behind David Ospina in the pecking order. He was initially dropped by manager Arsene Wenger over a smoking incident in the Gunners dressing room, but has been unable to reclaim his spot.
