The Red Devils look in good shape to make the top four, which should allow van Gaal more time to build this squad in his image, plus the money to do so as he looks to continue his policy of recruiting big names.

According to recent rumours, it looks as though these are the likely changes to be made in the summer:

Out: Juan Mata

In: Koke

In a rumoured swap deal with Atletico Madrid, Juan Mata could be on his way out of Old Trafford after struggling to impress on a consistent basis this season, while Koke is the target for United to come in in midfield, bringing more in way of work rate and creativity from deep.

World Class Defensive Pair In & Angel Di Maria Out At Manchester United

Out: Angel di Maria

In: Marco Reus

In another smart move, United could offload the unsettled Angel di Maria for a big fee to Paris Saint-Germain. The Argentine wanted to join the French side in the summer but couldn’t due to Financial Fair Play, though a move is being talked up again.

Meanwhile. Borussia Dortmund attacker Marco Reus remains on the club’s radar and could move for a similar price.

Out: Radamel Falcao

In: Edinson Cavani

With Radamel Falcao not managing to impress in his loan spell at United this season, Edinson Cavani has been linked as the Colombian’s ideal replacement upfront, and he should be available after becoming unsettled at PSG, though Arsenal are also interested.

Out: Phil Jones

In: Mats Hummels

Recent reports suggest Phil Jones’ days at Manchester United may be numbered. The England defender has certainly not lived up to expectation at Old Trafford, while Mats Hummels could move in another exciting raid on Borussia Dortmund.

Out: Adnan Januzaj

In: Seamus Coleman

With United already having a surplus of attacking midfielders, unsettled youngster Adnan Januzaj seems likely to head out of the club to make way for a more useful signing.

Van Gaal is known to be tracking a right wing-back and has been linked with Everton star Seamus Coleman, though Bayern Munich are also tracking the Republic of Ireland international.
