Gui Finkler (Melbourne Victory)

Finkler provided a touch of class in what was a mostly physical encounter in Victory’s 3-3 draw with Sydney FC on Saturday.

There’s no doubt he was hard done by after giving away a penalty late in the game, but nonetheless he was a standout performer on the night.

Lee Ki-Je (Newcastle Jets)

The South Korean scored the equaliser from the spot for the embattled Jets, holding his nerve to send Ante Covic the wrong way.

His directness and quality final ball gave the Wanderers defence headaches all afternoon.

Solid pickup by the Jets.

Kosta Barbarouses (Melbourne Victory)

The Kiwi’s first-half goal was superbly taken and he gave young Sydney FC left-back Alex Gersbach trouble all night.

Barbarouses is having his best season in Victory colours and Saturday was one of his best performances for the club in a long while.

Shane Smeltz (Sydney FC)

Smeltz played against the backdrop of transfer speculation linking him to the Malaysian Premier League, but his double performance off the bench prompted Sydney manager Graham Arnold to issue a hands-off warning.

Nebojsa Marinkovic (Perth Glory)

The Serb has been superb for the Glory this season and Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Adelaide United was no different.

His equaliser from outside the box was excellent and was key in Perth maintaining its spot at the summit of the A-League table.
