Atlas get their Copa Libertadores campaign underway tomorrow in the Estadio Jalisco against the Colombian side Independiente Santa Fe.

Aldo Leao Ramirez will not see any action in the first two games in the Copa Libertadores, however, after CONMEBOL informed the club the player was suspended in a recent press release.

The Colombian player was sent off in the playoffs against Independiente Santa Fe when he was playing for Morelia in 2014, which earned him a two game ban.

He received the red card on February 4th last year in the Copa Libertadores first round when he intentionally elbowed opponent Omar Perez. Santa Fe won the game 1-0.

Atlas had hoped to get the ban overturned, but instead Ramirez will now miss the games against both Santa Fe on February 16th and Atletico Mineiro on February 25th.
