The club are responding to a shocking video which emerged last night as the Chelsea team faced Paris Saint Germain in the Champions League.

In the video, a member of the French public is repeatedly seen to be pushed off a Metro train by fans while trying to board because he’s black, with the fans responsible chanting: “We’re racist, we’re racist, and that’s the way we like it, we like it, we like it.”

And in a statement  the Blues said they would take severe action to any fan identified as being part of the incident.

“Such behaviour is abhorrent and has no place in football or society,” the club said, reports Daily Mirror.

“We will support any criminal action against those involved, and should evidence point to involvement of Chelsea season-ticket holders or members the club will take the strongest possible action against them, including banning orders.”

UEFA are also likely to begin an investigation into the conduct of the Blues fans before and following their 1-1 draw with Paris Saint Germain which could see the club face serious repercussions.
