After going top of the Championship table following their 1-1 draw at Birmingham on Wednesday, Middlesbrough will be looking to extend their advantage over their promotion-chasing rivals with a victory against Leeds United at the Riverside.

The draw at St Andrews extended Aitor Karanka’s side’s unbeaten run in the league to ten games, but they will be coming up against another of the league’s form teams.

Last Saturday’s 1-0 victory against Millwall meant that Neil Redfearn’s Leeds side have lost only one of their last seven games, taking them near the top half of the table, and slightly easing their relegation fears.

A single goal was all that separated the two sides when they met back in August. Billy Sharp got a late winner on his Leeds debut, but only after Middlesbrough winger Albert Adomah had a goal controversially chalked off.

The home side will be without goalkeeper, Dimi Konstantopoulos, who was sent off against Birmingham, with former Real Madrid stopper Tomas Mejias expected to step in.
