When asked in his post match press conference if Matic had over-reacted to a tackle that caused him to lose control and shove Burnley’s Ashley Barnes to the ground, Mourinho said: “Don’t make me laugh, because I am not in the mood to laugh.”

He then proceeded to pin-point the exact minutes in the match the referee had, in his eyes, failed to make the correct decision.

However, he refused to do it in more open terms than identifying the minutes the incidents occurred lest he receive another FA caution for attempting to influence match officials this season.

“30, 33, 43 and 69,” said Mourinho, reports Sunday Times.

“That [the tackle] was minute 69 and it had a big relation with minute 30. Normally the player [Barnes], if I can call him a player, that was involved in minute 69 was involved in minute 30 and normally in minute 31 he should be in the shower. Then there would have been no minute 69 if the person in charge does [his job] in a proper way in minute 30.”

Mourinho has been eager to suggest there has been a conspiracy against him and his team this season by match officials who are determined to see his side lose and cost them the title.

“If this story that started a couple of months ago finishes today, if you tell me it’s finished, then with 12 matches to play and an advantage of five points, I tell you [we will be] champions.

“But I don’t know if the story ends here or if you have more waiting for us,” he said.
