The 21 year old French international is valued at £75m and has been key to the club’s recent domestic domination and is presumably not a player Juve manager Massimiliano Allegri would want to lose.

The Turin side are reportedly interested in Montenegrin international Jovetic and this could well aid City’s push for Pogba.

The 25 year old was already down behind Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko in Manuel Pellegrini’s pecking order and the arrival of Wilfried Bony, signed from Swansea City in January, has all but scuppered his City career.

Jovetic was then dropped from Man City’s Champions League squad and must now be considering his options and a move back to Italy, where he previously played for Fiorentina, may well appeal to the cultured forward.

Pogba left City’s local rivals Man United for Juventus in the summer of 2012 and has matured into arguably the most sought after young talent in world football.

A move to Man City would be a contentious one for Pogba to consider though is perhaps seen by Pellegrini as an ideal long term replacement for veteran Yaya Toure.
