Kane and Bentaleb among Tottenham’s better performers.

Plucky Tottenham Hotspur continued to embrace their role as Premier League comeback kings on Sunday as they came from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with West Ham United at White Hart Lane.

Here’s how Mauricio Pochettino’s Spurs rated against the Hammers…

GK: Hugo Lloris – 7/10

Both of West Ham’s goals were past Lloris before he even had time blink, so no blame can be attached on that front. The Frenchman fumbled the ball early in the first half, but, all in all, he had a pretty solid game, making a couple of fine saves in the process.

RB: Kyle Walker – 5/10

Adequate defensively, but subdued going forward, which is strange for Walker.

LB: Danny Rose – 7/10

His goal was pretty flukey, but Rose was one of Tottenham’s best attackers all game. His defensive play was decent too.

Eric Dier – 5.5/10

Pretty busy, making 10 clearances. However, Dier was not as composed as usual. His distribution was a bit sketchy.

Jan Vertonghen – 5/10

Vertonghen seemed to shrink today, which is strange considering how well he played in the wins over Cheslea and Arsenal earlier this year.

Ryan Mason – 5/10

Full of energy and aggression, which is very important in a derby, but, unfortunately, Mason did very little with the ball.

Nabil Bentaleb – 7/10

Extremely classy throughout. Bentaleb has quickly become one of Tottenham’s best players.

Erik Lamela – 3.5/10

Who!? Lamela was anonymous for most of his 90-minute shift. When he did get into the game, he tried too many crafty flicks and tricks. Creativity is great, but Lamela is not creative – he just plays with lots of flair. Instead of playing a simple sideways pass, he will attempt a flashy back-heel to the same player. All the risk, but without the chance of reward. Pointless.

Mousa Dembele – 6/10

West Ham’s defenders struggled to cope with Dembele at times in the first half. However, he was surprisingly subbed at the interval to make way for Christian Eriksen. Why Lamela wasn’t hooked, only Pochettino knows!

Andros Townsend – 5.5/10

He troubled the Hammers with his pace and direct dribbling in the early stages, but once Sam Allardyce’s men has worked him out, he offered nothing. Replaced by Roberto Soldado just before the hour.

Harry Kane – 7.5/10

Not as many fireworks as we have become accustomed to from Kane, but he was still Tottenham’s best player. His penalty miss/rebound was very lucky, but he won the spot-kick like an experienced pro.

Subs:

Christian Eriksen – 5.5/10

Kept quiet for most of his 45-minute cameo. Took one very good free-kick, which forced Adrian into a top save.

Roberto Soldado – 6/10

Had just one shot, but struck it very well. His confidence is clearly growing – he asked to take the stoppage-time penalty, but Kane outranked him.

Nacer Chadli – 6/10

Replaced Mason on 79 minutes and helped keep Tottenham on the front foot in the final moments of the match.
