Is it Arsenal with Alexis Sanchez? Chelsea with Cesc Fabregas or Diego Costa? Or even one of Southampton’s myriad of transfers?

9) Bojan, Stoke City

Before his injury the former Barcelona man was one of the star performers in the Premier League, and driving his team in to the top half. He would be higher on this list were it not for the season ending knee problem he picked up.

8) Fraser Forster, Southampton

The Saints have one of the best defensive records in the league, and that has been in part down to new goalkeeper Forster. One mistake against Aston Villa apart, he has been a picture of reliability between the sticks.

7) Alex Song, West Ham

Although only a loan deal, the Cameroonian has made a major impact at Upton Park. His all action midfield displays have helped the Hammers in to the top half of the division. Song has done so well that he could have earned a move to a bigger club in the summer.

6) Dusan Tadic, Southampton

When the Saints lost Adam Lallana in the summer some wondered where they would get their creativity from this campaign. However, they have, if anything, improved on the England international with Tadic. The Serbian has an impressive seven assists and three goals so far.

5) Diafra Sakho, West Ham

When the 25-year-old arrived from Ligue 2 in the summer not many will have thought it an inspiring signing from Sam Allardyce. However, 11 goals later the forward seems to have proved everyone wrong at Upton Park.

4) Gylfi Sigurdsson, Swansea City

After struggling at Tottenham a move back to the Welsh side seemed sensible for the Iceland international. It has turned out that this is exactly what it was, with the midfielder acting like he had never left. It will be interesting to see if he carries on his great form now that Wilfried Bony has departed the club.

3) Diego Costa, Chelsea

The Brazilian has brought a clinical edge to the Blues with 17 goals to his name so far. As he was signed for only a little more than Romelu Lukaku was sold for it was a great piece of business from Jose Mourinho.

2) Alexis Sanchez, Arsenal

The Chilean has almost turned the Gunners in to a one man team at times, and kept them going in the first half of the season when others were out of form. 17 goals in all competitions is a great return for a winger.

1) Cesc Fabregas

When Arsene Wenger turned down the opportunity to sign the Spaniard, many Arsenal fans thought they would go on to regret it. They have been proved right as the midfielder has managed to make Chelsea both more pleasing on the eye and harder to beat.
