The wallpaper tycoon has a dislike for the 63-year-old which started because of the rivalry between their respective birthplaces of the Hague and Amsterdam, and this has only been furthered by van Gaal’s decision to snub him at lunch before the Garry Monk’s side’s victory over the Old Trafford side on the opening day of the season.

He claims to have said, “Hey, Louis, I’m going to take three points back to the Hague, you silly s**,” after van Gaal ignored him.

A Dutch TV crew was followed van Zweden during Swansea’s home win over United on the weekend, and caught him uttering, “I find him an arrogant b******,” in reaction the United boss claiming his team is the best in the Premier League.

After the win he tweeted, “Dear Louis. Sleep well mate 6 points and the double. 2-1 again!!.” The 52-year-old has since deleted the post.

The Red Devils’ defeat on Saturday could prove damaging to their chances of finishing in the top four.

Arsenal have now overtaken them in third place, while Southampton and Liverpool are just one and two points behind Man United respectively.
