The 2015 Brit Awards take place this evening, with pop music royalty from all over the world cramming into London’s O2 Arena for a spectacular ceremony.

Here at CaughtOffside, we have decided to hand out six of our own Brit Awards to members of the football community.

The results are as follows…

Brit Global Success Award – Gareth Bale

He may have been booed by those horribly-ungrateful Real Madrid fans in recent months, but it’s safe to say that Bale has been very successful since swapping Tottenham Hotspur’s White Hart Lane for the Bernabeu 18 months ago. The Welsh wizard scored key goals to help Real win the Copa del Rey and Champions League last season and, in total, he has netted 36 times for the Spanish giants to date.

Brit Award for British Breakthrough Act – Harry Kane

Not many people had heard of Kane when the Tottenham Hotspur youngster was given a chance under Tim Sherwood towards the end of last season and, although he scored three goals late in the 2013-14 campaign, few foresaw that he was going be among the Premier League’s best players this season. But, credit to Kane, he has done just that and the speed of his breakthrough has been truly remarkable.

Brit Award for Best British Group – Scotland

We guess this award should go to one of Britain’s three national teams. England endured a horrific World Cup campaign, so they don’t even deserve to be considered. That leaves Wales or Scotland. Wales are unbeaten in four Euro 2016 qualifying games, although their 2-1 wins over Andorra and Cyprus were far from convincing. Meanwhile, Scotland are much-improved. Their six-game unbeaten streak came to an end when they lost narrowly to Germany last year, but they have responded well by taking seven points from their next three qualifiers, giving them a big chance of making a major finals for the first time since 1998.

Brit Award for International Male Solo Artist – Raheem Sterling

Sterling is one of those players who fans just love to watch. Give him the ball and let him work his magic. The Liverpool wonderkid has produced countless pieces of stunning solo skill in the past 12 months.

Brit Award for Best British Dance Act – Daniel Sturridge

His dancing is divisive – you either like it or you really don’t. Nevertheless, everyone knows Sturridge’s move, so he deserves credit for creating good brand awareness.

Brit Award for International Female Solo Artist – Mandy Capristo

Miss Capristo went solo late last year when she broke up with Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil. She was one of football’s hottest and most talented WAGs, as the video below proves…
