According to the Metro, the Gunners boss has talked up his side’s chances of putting in an improved display in the next game, though it would take a huge performance for the club to go through.

Wenger’s side need to score at least three goals to have any hope of progressing to the quarter-finals, but when asked about Arsenal’s chances, the Frenchman said: “We are still in the Champions League. Don’t rule us out too quickly.

“We fought very hard against Besiktas to qualify. What’s frustrating is that we’ve gone out in the last 16 in the last four years.”
