Rafael Facing Manchester United Boot: Nine Others Also Looking At Summer Axe

The Brazilian right-back hasn’t played since the FA Cup third round at Yeovil…

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal looks likely to initiate a summer exodus at Old Trafford, headed by the exit of Rafael, as he talks to senior figures at the club over the futures of 10 players at the club, according to the Telegraph.

Van Gaal is thought to have spoken with executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward to discuss the contracts and sales of several players, thought to include Robin van Persie and Radamel Falcao as well.

Rafael looks set to head any post season exodus though following the Red Devils manager claiming Paddy McNair, who recently signed a new contract, could be “the United right back for the next 10 years”.

Other players with uncertain futures are expected to be Ashley Young, who has found it hard to nail down a regular first team spot with competition from record signing Angel di Maria, and Tom Cleverley, who has spent the majority of the season out on loan at Premier League strugglers Aston Villa.
