The North London club have picked up a paltry ten points against top half teams in as many games this season. Only seven sides have done worse. Even Crystal Palace have managed to grab 11 points from their matches against the big boys, due mostly to wins against Everton and Liverpool.

Speaking of the Eagles, Wenger appears to bizarrely count them amongst the best teams in the top flight. When these statistics were put to him in a press conference, the Frenchman replied, “We just played 2-2 at Liverpool, we have beaten Manchester City away and, er… we have just beaten Crystal Palace.”

This was followed by the assertion that “Liverpool has never finished above us in the last 10 years.” This is not true. The Merseyside club have ended the season above Arsenal four times in the past decade.
