GK – Diego Alves

The Valencia stopper will have felt disappointed not to have been included in Brazil’s World Cup squad, but far from let his game decline, he has bounced back with another eight clean sheets this season in 24 games.

RB – Danilo

The Porto right-back has attracted Premier League interest with some impressive performances this season and last. He has scored four goals in 26 appearances, fitting the mould of an attacking Brazilian full-back, and may well move on to greater heights in the near future.

CB – David Luiz

Well-known to fans in the Premier League for his marauding defensive style after his time at Chelsea. Now at French giants PSG and impressing in Ligue 1, even contributing two goals as well.

CB – Thiago Silva

Widely regarded as one of the best central defenders in the world and provides a solid base for his more volatile partner David Luiz for both club and country. A rock at the back who is currently enjoying his peak years.

LB – Filipe Luis

Enjoyed a brilliant four seasons at Atletico Madrid, topping it off by winning the La Liga title, before then moving to Chelsea where he has gone on to enjoy further success.
CM – Fernandinho

Manchester City’s talented holding midfielder who would be the perfect foil for Coutinho, who would look to get forward. Since moving to the north west, having spent eight years at Shakhtar, he has been a revelation.

CM – Philippe Coutinho

An absolute magician this season for Liverpool, Coutinho has stolen the show on many occasions, including against Manchester City, and he must surely be in line for a call-up to the national side.

AMC – Oscar

Six goals and seven assists so far for Premier League leaders Chelsea and performed well in an unconvincing Brazil side during the World Cup. An international shoe-in who would be complemented by Coutinho’s creativity and ability to make things happen.
RW – Willian

Another Chelsea player who has performed reasonably well since moving to the Premier League, though he will still want to do better. He has scored four goals in his 18 Brazil caps and at 26-years-old he has plenty of years left in him.

ST – Neymar

One of the world’s leading lights next to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. The hitman has already scored 24 goals in only 28 games and it’s almost unbelievable he is only 23 years of age at the moment, with his peak years still to come.

LW – Luiz Adriano

The top scorer in the Champions League with nine and has scored a staggering 72 goals in 154 games for Shakhtar over eight years. He would likely be forced out wide to accommodate Neymar, but would likely still shine.
