1) Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich)

One of the best strikers in the world could be available for around £30m this summer after reportedly struggling to settle at Bayern Munich. Robert Lewandowski has been linked with Manchester United on a number of occasions in his career so far after showing himself to be a superb goalscorer who can guarantee 20 or more goals every season.

2) Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund)

Not strictly a striker, but Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus is capable of playing upfront and has a great scoring record as an attacking midfielder. The German international has been linked several times with United and could be a good option for the club this summer.

3) Edinson Cavani (Paris Saint-Germain)

A lethal striker during his days with Napoli in Serie A, Edinson Cavani has not found his best form at PSG and has been linked with a summer exit to United and other Premier League clubs.

4) Jackson Martinez (Porto)

A superbly prolific player making a real impression with Porto, Jackson Martinez is attracting growing interest ahead of the summer and could move for around £30m, with United and Arsenal among the clubs chasing him.

5) Karim Benzema (Real Madrid)

A world class striker who is seemingly undervalued by Real Madrid, Karim Benzema may be allowed to move for around £40m this summer if reports are to be believed, with United among his many long-term admirers.

6) Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur)

Worth a shout? Harry Kane has been in majestic form for Tottenham this season and is surely going to start attracting interest from bigger clubs before long, with the England hopeful looking ideally suited to a team like United as they search for quality upfront.

7) Thomas Muller (Bayern Munich)

Another Bayern Munich player on United’s radar, Thomas Muller is also not an out-and-out striker, but has the poaching instincs and intelligence to bag plenty of goals from a deeper role, so could be another option worth exploring for Louis van Gaal’s side.
