1) Neymar (Barcelona)
If City are willing to spend such crazy money on new attacking players, why not target the younger and less controversial Barcelona forward Neymar? The Brazilian is an outstanding talent and still has his best years ahead of him – plus he doesn’t bite!
2) Karim Benzema (Real Madrid)
A world class striker who could be available this summer, Real Madrid front-man Karim Benzema could be a superb signing for City as they look for a big-name partner for Sergio Aguero.
3) Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal)
City like poaching stars from Arsenal, so why not make a big-money bid for in-form Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez? The former Barcelona man has been world class since moving to the Premier League and is a more long-term option than Suarez – plus he gives the added bonus of weakening a rival.
4) Robert Lewandowski (Bayern Munich)
Linked with a number of top clubs at the moment, Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski could be available this summer and is another superb goalscorer with the added bonus of being a few years younger than Suarez, not to mention considerably cheaper at around £30m.
5) Paul Pogba (Juventus)
With Aguero and January signing Wilfried Bony upfront, do City even need to blow that much on a new striker? Paul Pogba of Juventus has also been linked with the club and seems far more worthwhile as a long-term investment due to only being 21 and looking the ideal player to replace the ageing Yaya Toure.
