Five Worst Dressed Footballers In Honour Of Former Chelsea Star’s Horrific Fashion Faux Pas

The higher the wages, the more outrageous the outfit it seems..

Professional footballers are an odd bunch and as salaries have gone through the roof, these rare species have at times attempted to out-do each other in the competition of who can appear in the most hideous outfit.

When taking part in question and answer sessions, players are often asked which of their team-mates is the worst dressed and there are usually  few candidates in each squads.

We have therefore decided to construct a list, an easy task mind, of the worst dressed footballers over the past decade.

1. Ricardo Quaresma

The former Chelsea and Barcelona wide-man bravely appeared in the mixed zone last night following Porto’s 3-0 victory over his former club Sporting Lisbon. Where do you start, the snood? The mega-tight jeans, or the awfwardly positioned pouch? Ricardo Quaresma is worthy of any such list.

2. Andriy Voronin

Andriy Voronin had a spell at Liverpool under Rafa Benitez but didn’t quite get accustomed with the culture in England, I wonder why?

Despite the tracksuit being a high-end Italian brand, it’s the sort of outfit suitable only in pyjama-form, not to mention his wife’s gear.

3. Alex Song

Alex Song could realistically have a worst dressed competition of his own with West Ham seemingly incapable of grabbing attention with his outfits.

Constantly named the worst dressed whilst at Arsenal and Cesc Fabregas summed up the curious case of Alex Song the best.

4. El Hadji Diouf

One of the most loathed players ever to appear in the Premier League, Diouf was certainly a character. For his outfit, lets just give the Senegalese benefit of the doubt and assume that this was his ’50 Cent phase’.

5. Mario Balotelli

What sort of list would this be without the most controversial player in Europe – Mario Balotelli. Hours after a Liverpool game, the Italian stepped out in the city donning the outfit above.

It is nice however, to see Balotelli trying to immerse into the culture in England with his dress sense straight out of Lennie from Of Mice and Men’s closet.
