Edu, currently a general manager at Brazilian giants Corinthians, told the official site that “Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay will always be favourites because they have great squads, but Chile could also have something to say.”
“At the World Cup the South American teams did very well and from what I can see these teams will continue to get better with the competition there is” he added. “The 2015 Copa América will be a great tournament to follow”.
The tournament kicks off on 11th June with hosts Chile vs Ecuador. The final at the Estadio Nacional in Santiago will be on the 4th July.
Edu played for Arsenal from 2001 to 2005, playing a significant role in the their ‘invincibles’ season.
