4) The form of David De Gea

Although the Red Devils have been criticised for not signing a centre-back in either the January or the summer transfer windows, the form of this man has kept them from conceding a boatload.

With the 24-year-old looking likely to play like this for the rest of the season, any team will be hard pressed to score against the Mancunian side.

3) Louis van Gaal’s (lack of) philosophy

When the 63-year-old arrived at the club he spoke a lot of implementing his own ‘philosophy’, However, since the team has started playing it has become clear that the Dutchman is willing to do anything in order to win, including putting Marouane Fellaini up front.

This ‘win at all costs’ mindset should drive them in to the Champions League qualifications.

2) Been there, done that

Having spent £150 million on top class players in the summer to improve an already pedigree squad, the Red Devils are chock a block of players who have featured at the top of the game.

This will mean that should the top four race go down to the wire there will not be any bottling at Old Trafford.

1) The weaknesses of competitors

Although both Liverpool and Arsenal are currently in great form in the Premier League, they are both also capable of falling apart. Both teams have shown some weaknesses this season, and could well slip up in the near future.

The Gunners especially have trouble against the teams placed around them, add to he mix the recent troubles being faced by Southampton and Tottenham and things become a lot easier for Man United.
