The Premier League’s outstanding individual player will be announced in April.
The PFA Player of the Year award is often a much debated award and normally at this time of year there is an obvious candidate who will inevitably swoop all the awards before him.
However this season, many candidates remain in the hunt for the prize with Sergio Aguero looking like an early favourite and Alexis Sanchez the latest to dominate the betting odds.
Since the turn of the year however, Arsenal’s Santi Cazorla and Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho have clearly been ahead of their counterparts.
However for these players, the set-up of the voting system may go against them with voting ballots being handed out in December.
Here is a list of the five players favourites for the Player of the Year award.

Jose Mourinho said he was missing a “killer striker” last season and was the reason they missed out on the title in the end, Diego Costa is surely the reason Chelsea are heading to their first league title since 2010 and will become top scorer in the division.
3. Harry Kane
Potentially ending the season as the highest English goalscorer gives Kane a considerable chance of being included in the short-list.
2. Sergio Aguero
The Argentine is sole reason behind the fact that their still remains hope of a two horse race for the Premier League title as he dragged his Manchester City side single handedly through games.
1. Alexis Sanchez
Led the odds for the award for the remainder of the season and he too has carried the Arsenal squad through a number of their tight games and is high up in the Premier League in terms of the goals he’s had a hand in.
