Some of these will get snapped up in no time…

With the end of the season fast approaching, clubs will soon be looking at who they can bring in during the inevitable summer transfer rush. Along with the hundreds of millions of pounds which will no doubt change during the transfer window, teams will also be on the lookout for out-of-contract players who they can sign for free.

Here is our ultimate free transfer XI for the summer of 2015:

Gerhard Tremmel

The Swansea second choice keeper is 36 years of age and has only made three appearances in all competitions for the Swans this season. He will have been downhearted when Garry Monk immediately brought in Lukasz Fabianski as no. 1 when Vorm left for Tottenham. That said, he can still do a job and will find a club somewhere.

Glen Johnson

Disappointing for Liverpool in recent seasons, though they have relatively little cover for the right-back spot. There’s no doubt that the England international has talent, though it’s unlikely Liverpool will renew his deal considering the large wage he will demand.

Winston Reid

Earlier this season the New Zealander declared that he did not want to sign a new contract at West Ham and has since been touted with moves to top Premier League sides like Arsenal. Reid has been one of the Hammers’ top performers this season and will have attracted many suitors.

Ron Vlaar

The Aston Villa captain will certainly be wanted at Villa Park, though it’s unlikely his wage would be viable, or he would want to stay, should they be relegated to the Championship.

Jon Flanagan

A player with a bright future who has struggled this season through injury. It would be a shame if Liverpool let him go following a series of impressive performances last season when the Reds narrowly missed out on the Premier League title.
James Milner

A player who has been used mainly from the bench this season, starting only 13 Premier League games. Milner definitely has a place in the Manchester City side and could be picked up by a top side, but his style doesn’t endear himself to fans wanting to watch fast attacking football.

Mathieu Flamini

The 30-year-old Frenchman has been relatively poor this season for Arsenal, making very little impact at all. It would not be a surprise to see him leave the Emirates, but there’s doubts he would make an impact at any top Premier League side.

Michael Carrick

The 33-year-old has started showing his age, due to his bad luck with injuries. That said, he is still a class act and can do a job at most Premier League clubs if he doesn’t get a contract extension at Old Trafford. Any club willing to pay his high wages will have to take a gamble on his fitness though, after he has only played 13 games this season.

Sammy Ameobi

The left winger, brother of one time Newcastle stalwart Shola, had a bright future when breaking into the Magpies first team, but doesn’t look to have fulfilled his potential. He has played in 18 games this season scoring two and assisting two, though he will likely find a Championship club at least.
Emmanuel Adebayor

Never has a player with so much talent been played so little. Adebayor has had spells at Arsenal, Manchester City and Real Madrid but has been accused of having a poor attitude with regards to working hard. No doubt though, he is capable of scoring goals, as Tim Sherwood showed during his time as Tottenham manager, and will find a club with such an impressive CV.

Danny Ings

Get ready for one of the biggest transfer talking points this summer, Danny Ings has been linked with a move to Real Sociedad in Spain, and subsequently rejected them, and now touted with a free transfer to Liverpool this summer. The 22-year-old has scored nine goals in a struggling aide this year and could yet develop into a great prospect for the Reds.
