10) Aaron Cresswell (West Ham United – 177.03 miles)

The former Ispwich Town star, who signed for the Hammers last summer, has been a bit hit at Upton Park so far this season – thanks in no small part to his tireless work-rate.

9) Christian Eriksen (Tottenham Hotspur – 179.04 miles)

The Dane has made a habit of scoring late goals for Tottenham this season, and he clearly runs his socks off in order to get them. Based on these numbers, he’s still running at full steam when other players are starting to tire.

8) Sebastian Larsson (Sunderland – 180.80 miles)

Sunderland have had a lot of defending to do this season, while they’ve struggled for goals going forward. It’s their lack of striking prowess that perhaps best explains Larsson’s numbers, as he busts a gut to get forward and help out.

7) Jack Colback (Newcastle United – 181.09 miles)

The 25-year-old midfielder is the engine room of the Newcastle midfield, and has proved a key addition so far this season. The former Sunderland player has picked up ten yellow cards this season, but has at least run a long way to get them.

6) Nemanja Matic (Chelsea – 181.30 miles)

The difference-maker for Chelsea in the last year. The hard-working defensive midfielder has been exception since his arrival at the club in January 2014, clearly covering a lot of distance in his attempts to sweep up at the back.

5) Daryl Janmaat (Newcastle United – 182.04 miles)

The Dutch World Cup star has proved a very astute signing for Newcastle so far this season. Having been linked with Manchester United last summer, there were a few raised eyebrows when he joined the club, but he’s not disappointed.

4) Scott Arfield (Burnley – 183.70 miles)

The 26-year-old midfielder was an integral part of Burnley’s promotion campaign, after joining the club from Huddersfield Town in 2013, and has continued to impress this term – playing 29 times and chipping in with a couple of goals.

3) Jake Livermore (Hull City – 184.38 miles)

The former Tottenham starlet has been determined to prove himself as a Premier League quality player during his time with Hull, and has been prepared to work hard to do so. He’s made 31 appearances in all competitions so far this season.

2) George Boyd (Burnley – 186.17 miles)

While Hull did well to pick up Livermore, they certainly underestimated George Boyd, who has proved a huge asset to Burnley so far this season. Boys appeared near the top of many of the Telegraph’s lists today, while Clarets fans have spoken about their admiration for his efforts.

1) Steven N’Zonzi (Stoke City – 187.13 miles)

Stoke City have always been regarded as one of the Premier League’s most industrial teams, and it’s no real surprise to see their midfield workhorse sitting at the top of this list. The underrated Frenchman has been excellent yet again this season.
