Sir Alex Ferguson

Anger rating – 9/10

A mind-game master whose influence on the sidelines terrified even the most experienced of players and managers.

Regularly involved in spats throughout his incredible time at Old Trafford – including a seven year boycott of the BBC, a football boot thrown at the head of David Beckham, and an explosive touchline clash with then Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini – the Scot was, and still must be, a force to be reckoned with.

Golden Balls knew more than most the consequences of meeting an angry Fergie…

Arsene Wenger

Anger rating – 9/10

While a seemingly calm and collected man, the Frenchman is not unaccustomed to an outburst – regularly tussling with his Premier League rivals.

But a mention must go to the Gunners boss for one of the funniest outbursts the Premier League has seen. Following a celebration to Robin van Persie scoring against Manchester United, when the goal was ruled offside, Wenger booted a plastic bottle, resulting in his comical sending off to the stands.

Have a watch of Gordon Strachan’s hilarious commentary of the famous moment:

Jose Mourinho

Anger rating – 8/10

A slightly calmer man in England than in Spain – with the Portuguese, in his Real Madrid days, even poking the eye of Barcelona’s Tito Vilanova – the Chelsea boss has still expressed his less composed side on the touchline of the Premier League.

A memorable moment belongs to October 2014, when the Blues boss became embroiled in a shoving match with the legendary Arsenal manager.

Alan Pardew

Anger rating – 7/10

An ill-tempered manager whose anger has famously gotten the better of him – producing some shocking moments.

In Manchester City’s 2-0 defeat over the Magpies in January 2014, the Toon manager got involved in a spat with Citizens boss Manuel Pellegrini, disgracefully calling him, “f****** old c***“, to which he went unpunished for.

Only a couple of months later, Pardew insanely head-butted Hull City midfielder David Meyler – an incident in which he was fined £100,000 by Newcastle, £60,000 by the FA, and handed a seven game stadium ban – the first for any Premier League manager.

Sam Allardyce

Anger rating – 6/10

The Hammers boss is the type of manager nobody would want to get on the bad side of – with the former Bolton Wanderers defender unafraid of voicing his fury – particularly towards the officials.

One of Big Sam’s finest Premier League moments goes to an incident that could easily have resulted in anger from the 60-year-old, but rather, when Swansea’s Chico Flores dived right under the nose of Allardyce, he responded brilliantly… With laughter.

Mark Hughes

Anger rating – 9/10

A fiery forward in his playing days, with his temper not subsiding in his managerial career.

The former Manchester United and Barcelona attacker has had some explosive outbursts with Roberto Mancini and Tony Pulis in previous seasons – but he saved his very worst for Arsene Wenger when the Gunners boss refused to shake the then City manager’s hand.
