Young Arsenal Star Issues Rallying Cry To Teammates Ahead Of FA Cup Clash

Oxlade-Chamberlain will be competing with Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck for a starting position on Monday evening.

Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has said that his team-mates can use the attitude of the Invinvibles to overcome the hurdle of finally winning a game at Old Trafford agains Man United.

September 2006 was the last time an Arsenal side left the infamous stadium with a victory and given the fact that sides like West Brom, Swansea and Southampton have all achieved that feat over the past 18 months, questions have been asked about the mental strength of this Arsenal side.

Oxlade-Chamberlain was in the team which lost to Man United earlier on in the season despite dominating the game and has called on his side to show the belief of the greatest Arsenal side of all time.

“When we go there it’s a tough environment,” Chamberlain, who was the only member of the first team at the premier of the Invincibles documentary, told Arsenal.com

“The game we always speak about is the 8-2 but you can’t go into those games with any doubt or any fear.

“I was at the premiere of the Invincibles documentary the other day and was listening to legends like Martin Keown and Thierry Henry talking about how they had no fear going into those games.

“They had no doubt they were going to get the right result. That’s clearly the kind of attitude that you need to take into those big games.”

With all the qualities in their armour to really hurt Man United, the mental side of the game will be imperative for the Arsenal players and staff if they’re to overcome the jinx at Old Trafford.
