The Daily Star reports that Paris Saint Germain could now attempt to work a deal for the Argentine who has so far failed to hit the heights in the Premier League.

The 27-year-old has been substituted in his last three games for United and Louis van Gaal himself has said he is struggling to adapt since his move to England but believes the winger can overcome his drop in form.

If he were to be shown the door the report claims PSV’s Memphis Depay would be targeted as an ideal replacement whilst Di Maria could finally move to PSG who have been interested in his services since his time at Real Madrid.

It would be a strange move from van Gaal to sell the £70 million after only one season in English football with Di Maria having to contend with personal trauma after his family was rocked by an attempted robbery at their Cheshire mansion.

Tottenham’s interest in Depay could also spur on any potential United interest though the Red Devils aren’t afraid of losing out on the winger if it came down to a decision between them and Spurs.
