Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal looks set to continue his big-spending habits in this summer’s transfer window with a further £88m set to go on three new signings.

The Red Devils are ready to rival Chelsea for two of these outstanding young talents, with United looking in need of further investment to get themselves back among the Premier League’s main title challengers.
The players in their sights are as follows:
1) Marquinhos (Paris Saint-Germain)
Valued at around £40m, PSG centre-back Marquinhos was a top target for United in January and is on their radar again for the summer, whilst also attracting strong interest from Chelsea.
2) Memphis Depay (PSV)
One of the top young talents in the Netherlands at the moment, £20m PSV winger Memphis Depay is another exciting youngster on van Gaal’s radar to improve his squad for next season.
3) Raphael Varane (Real Madrid)
Another outstanding young defender, United also want to go head to head with Chelsea in the race to sign Real Madrid starlet Raphael Varane, who would cost around £28m.
