PFA Young Player Of The Year: Liverpool Duo, Arsenal Midfielder & Chelsea Pair Among Top 10 Candidates

A PFA Young Player of the Year award marks a milestone in the life of a young star’s career, recognising their abilities and achievements. Won last year by Eden Hazard, the young Belgian has gone on to have a brilliant season with Chelsea, signing a long term contract at the club.

Here are the bookies 10 favourites for this year:

Ross Barkley – best price 66/1

The Everton youngster is an outsider for the prize having had a very much indifferent campaign. Barkley has had to deal with injuries and played in an underachieving Toffees side, flirting dangerously close to the bottom three.

Oscar – best price 66/1

The young Brazilian has had a good season with the Premier League leaders. Playing in a side where places are hotly contended, Oscar has made 28 appearances, scoring seven and assisting the same number.
Aaron Ramsey – best price 66/1

Another outsider, it is highly unlikely that the Arsenal man will come out of this season with the prize. The Welshman has had to battle through a number of injuries during his time in north London and despite impressing when he has played, he has only made 14 starts in this year’s Premier League.
Thibaut Courtois – best price 50/1

It takes a lot to oust Petr Cech from the number one spot at Chelsea, but that’s exactly what Courtois has done. The former Atletico Madrid stopper has made eight clean sheets and played his part in a Blues side which have only conceded 22 Premier League goals.
Christian Eriksen – best price 33/1

Eriksen is well known for his skill from a dead ball, scoring some amazing goals from free-kicks this season and dictating much of the play for Tottenham. The Dane has scored 11 goals this season and has been one of Spurs’ best players.
David de Gea – best price 20/1

Manchester United owe a lot to David de Gea’s amazing form this season. In the race for the top four, if it wasn’t for the Spaniard Manchester United would be much worse off. Tipped for a move to Real Madrid, if he keeps pulling off world class saves he could have a memento to go with.
Raheem Sterling – best price 16/1

Sterling won the European Golden Boy award this Christmas and is constantly talked up by his manager Brendan Rodgers. The jet-heeled winger is another player who Los Blancos are sniffing around, but Liverpool will want to tie him down to a long term deal as soon as possible.

Philippe Coutinho – best price 16/1

Coutinho has been tearing it up against Premier League sides, and in cup games, scoring long range curlers at will. It looks, finally, that he is reaching his potential, playing his part in a scarily talent Reds team.
Eden Hazard – best price 9/2

The winner from last year seems to get better and better. Hazard has signed a new long term contract with Chelsea and helped guide them to what looks like another Premier League title, with possibly more silverware to come.
Harry Kane – best price 3/10

The tall striker has come out of absolutely nowhere this season to take English football by storm. The 21-year-old has scored 24 goals for Tottenham and if they manage to work their way into the top four Spurs will have a lot to thank him for.
