“I was saying to Papus [Zoumana] Camara,” began Silva, speaking to L’Equipe [via Goal.com], “that this Paris team was the best I’ve ever been in.

“I was at Milan with [Clarence] Seedorf, [Alessandro] Nesta, [Andrea] Pirlo…but this PSG side are stronger.”

Silva was speaking ahead of PSG’s high-profile Champions League clash against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening. With the scores tied at 1-1, both teams will fancy their chances of progression from the meeting in West London.

“‘At PSG there are lots of good players, but they don’t go to the semi-finals, so it’s not a good team.’-it hurts me to hear that.

“We, the players, know the difficulty of succeeding in the Champions League, but we are going to go and get the result, even if I do have a lot of respect for Chelsea and their coach.”

Silva sat out PSG’s comfortable 4-1 victory over Racing Club de Lens on Saturday but is in line to face the Pensioners on Wednesday evening.
